oil getting to cam lobes

oil getting to cam lobes
I have trouble with the oil not riding up on two of the rocker fingers and getting under the cam lobe. I have new bushes and oil is getting out on the fingers but not going up to the lobes. It just runs off the sides. Any thoughts lads?

I think it might have been cheaper that what I've spent on bits.

Re: oil getting to cam lobes
Hello Tony,
I'll try to be helpful.
First, before initially setting the eccentric bushes, it is important to ensure that their orientation is such that the oilways are connected between the bushes and the rocker fingers, and thus oil may flow to the surfaces of the cams. The drawing below shows the permitted position of the thick part of the eccentric bushes in order to ensure oil flow. Ensure that the broad section of the bush falls within the arc shown.

And below is a drawing showing the assembly of the eccentric bush in the rocker finger and the small groove that carries oil from the big end of the rocker finger to the came lobe. (Make sure that the thin copper locking washer is in place under the steel lock nut.)

I hope this helps - if not please let me know.
Ian
