Front springs for Mike Summers

"Big day today following a few months off the road ‘resting’ - UR 9708 got its MOT after a failure because of fractured front spring, but fortunately I had some very tired spare leaves. Sadly the front springs have seen better days. Do you think someone has some replacement front springs in their ‘spares store’ I could buy? Any ideas??"

Brost Forge in North London can retemper and reset springs for 'our' cars. They can also manufacture replacements where necessary. I found them to be efficient and accurate when overhauling mine, but I thought expensive. There are other spring specialists. Hope this helps.

Thanks Mike - I'll pass this info on. Rear springs are available new from Mike Dowley as they are identical to M springs, but the M fronts are flatter. The slight catch is that they come without the clamp plates, so you need to retain these from your old springs when buying new ones from Mike - and probably other sources.
