Re: NV 2803 - 1933 McEvoy Special

Quick update. The car is now a rolling chassis again. All done except the wheels and fitting new Hartfords. I have also collected the cylinder block and head from Autosport in Seattle. They have magnafluxed the block (no cracks), rebored it, skimmed the gasket face and re-cut the valve seats and fit...

Re: Website Wonders

The website has been edited and maintained using Netscape for many years. Netscape ceased to be supported about 20 years ago and does not run on current versions of Windows, so I have been making all edits on my ancient desktop PC whose life hangs by a thread and in any case won't be any good on 240...

Re: Christmas virtual pub meet

Just a quick note to wish all our members and Register friends a great Christmas and a fabulous 2024 motoring season.

Jayne and I are looking forward greatly to returning to England next June after living and working abroad for nearly 30 years.

To one and all we raise a virtual Yuletide glass!

Re: 1933 Maddox Fixed head Coupe EN 5810

Update 2023! The Maddox is still here at VMR HQ Seattle but the plan is to ship it back to the UK next spring and get it to Paul Maddox. One complication just sorted is the title for the car. It was sold from the Ellingson Motor Museum, Minnesota to Ian Samuel in Ontario, Canada in 2011 but he never...

Re: Summer Rally 2024 - 19th to 21st July

Very good news today re the Ludlow Weekend. The VSCC is holding its 90th Anniversary Jubilee celebrations in Stratford-on-Avon next August and I have offered a VMR trophy for the Minor contingent, as part of the Light Car Section's element of the week. Because of this week, the LCES will not be hold...

Saloon rear window rubber

To all you Minor saloon owners out there. Barry Smith is asking for a description and/or source for the rubber strip for his rear window glass. Can anyone advise?

Thanks in advance and I will pass on any info to help Barry with LG 6677 (M33466).

Not sure which is worse...
Or even an SU Petrolift! I have made the decision to replace the original Petrolift that came with my McEvoy with a regular SU pump. Bronze bodied of course. :-)

Re: OHC Minor fuel taps - how to stop leaking

You are not missing anything, George. I have the same problem on several of my Minors, even when I have carefully rebuilt the taps with new seals. Getting the 'squeeze' right is the challenge - too loose and they leak, too tight and you can't turn the lever. On the fabric saloon I just bought, Halbe...
