This asking £3500 for a number plate on an original car is just daft. Bernard Parris (who I hope is a member now) purchased a very nice 2 seater (1930) with an MU number not six months ago on e.bay for £4200.I* woulod like legislation to stop transferring numbers off original cars. Am I getting old?

With a starting bid of GBP 7.5k, I wonder what his reserve is?! Adding the value of a car to the value of the number to come up with an asking priced doesn't work - thankfully. I suspect that there will be no bids. The car is not in top condition - look at the state of the engine - is that a temperature sensor in the head? The body is not original either - it was re-framed by John Smith a time or two ago.

I haven't heard from Bernard - could you give him a nudge?
