Fitted to a SV Minor in the USA. Just got running this weekend after lying dormant for thirty years.

Ian,
Without a shadow of doubt, Ford Eight ot Ten. The dynamo mounting, oil filler, timing pin and front bearer all give it away !

Thanks Paul - I also got the same reply from the VSCC forum. I gather that this engine is the one commonly found in J2's etc., and the MG boys refer to it as a FXXd engine!
The car in question is in Denver, so I'm not sure whether the owner is keen on replacing it. But at least he knows what he has now. Thanks again.

The engine is known as the E93A and despite the VSCC snobs, it is a very good engine and by far superior in hard service to either the Cowley or Abingdon offerings I'm sad to say !! Which is why of course the old boys in the 1950's who really knew what they were doing used to put them in the J2's !! This is the engine that Morris cribbed from Ford for the "new" Morris Eight in 1934.
