Cable brake routing.

Hi everyone.

Has anyone got cable brakes on their vehicle exactly as shown on the picture below ?

If so I would welcome a photo of your front brakes taken from the same angle as the diagram.

I am currently trying to obtain this same cable setup on my semisports with some considerable dificulty ! How the cable can align as smoothly as shown on the diagram beggars belief. Unless I am doing something drastically wrong ! [ very likely ! ]

I can see me ending up going along the Bowdenex route !!

Cheers

Hi Tony,

Great pictures - keep up the good work!

What exactly is your problem with the cables? The pic you posted is the later OHC and SV set-up. My (early) Semi-sports has the 180 degree arrangement with the king pin pulley underneath the kingpin. I have had SV Minors with the later arrangement and don't recall a problem - other than making sure the cable run between the cross-shaft and the chassis-mounted pulley does not foul the rear edge of the wing where it meets the running board.

I think your van (which you recently sold) would have had this arrangement?

Looking good tony... i assume you have the frame stored somewhere all covered and ready to drop back on the chassis....... complete with seats, hood etc...LOL.......

Well ............. I do have the body frame complete [ as a frame ! ] ...... but with all these jobs I seem to go one pace forward and two back !

I do hope to complete it in 2009 , but not saying which month !!

Regards

Tony
