I thought there was a thread on the new Lost Minors register which can be found in the Members' Area, but it seems not. So here's a fine photograph of a lost Minor well worth looking for. Registered 1st October 1932 in Leeds, it is seen here exactly thirty years ago being inspected by Cameron Gilg and Walter Kay, the pair who drove their identical 1933 Minor tourer HF 8547 from England via Spain and Algiers, across the Sahara to Cape Town. This was the first time the pair had met since their epic journey in January 1933.
Both HF 8547 and UG 1876 have gone to ground, but UG is still on the Swansea computer (and looks like it is SORN'ed) and, looking at its pristine condition in 1981, one would hope that it was well preserved somewhere - but where?
Gilg and Kay's trip was discussed some time back on the forum at http://www.vintageminor.co.uk/Forum1/ph ... &sk=t&sd=a
