My Rear and rear side windows have been ordered just have to buy extrusions and paint,
question is the wood that hold the windows in place, rust woodworm and rot has put pay to the original and replacements have to be made,(main frame spruce ok)
Due to the thin wood and rebates (on my saloon at least!) softwood is probably not suitable. The dash is mahogany and the door cappings look to be the same. The rear windows on mine have painted surrounds but I would expect them to be the same. Proper mahogany is hard to find, it's mainly philipine these days and is soft, if you can't find any decent stuff I may have some 2nd hand stuff. Alternatively ash or beech would probably do?
More help needed,
Can anyone tell me the finish used on the rear window surrounds,
Mine has wooden cover type covers that hide the finish of the head lining if you know what I mean, there must be a better way.
