Lubricating Leaf Springs
The springs on my 1932 Minor are making a heck of a racket as I'm going down the road. I was wondering if brushing on some old engine/transmission oil would stop them from creaking. Is that a good or bad idea?
Re: Lubricating Leaf Springs
It can't do any harm!
I just took a look at my rear springs on my tourer recently and they are caked with about half an inch of congealed black grease and road dirt. And they don't squeak!

Thanks Ian, I'll give a go and report back.
