The VMR's 25th Anniversary

Post by Ian Grace »

If you can't wait to the Centenary of the Morris Minor in 2028, plan to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Register in 2025!

The Register was founded at Prescott in the summer of 2000 and so we have a great deal to celebrate.

Planning will start shortly on our 2025 celebrations.

Just to bring this to the top as a reminder for everyone. Planning will start in the next couple of weeks. I see no reason why it shouldn't take place over our usual third weekend in July, so that would be Friday 18th to Sunday 20th July. And definitely three full days of activities.

Time to set this weekend as a goal to have your Minor ready - the MINIMUM target should be to assemble 25 Minors for the weekend!

As for the location, that is currently TBD but will definitely be fairly central.

Expressions of interest on this thread would be appreciated.

This could be a good target date to debut the Special. Oo-err, I'd better get cracking...

Update. So now we know that this will be celebrated at Kyre Park over thew weekend of 25th to 27th July.

This will be a significant milestone in the history of the Register and will be marked in appropriate fashion.

Update. I am in the early stages of planning our Silver Jubilee activities at Pre-War Kyre Park. There will be a special photo shoot for Minors and M Types on the lawns in front of the house.

A highlight I am looking at is a very special Jubilee dinner on Saturday evening. I have an amazing restaurant in mind that is not far from Kyre Park. There will be a special display of Minors and M Types at the restaurant (which is very photogenic),commemorative anniversary mementos for the attendees, guest speaker, complimentary places for our Honorary Members and their partners, and more. You get the idea.

Tickets will be around the GBP 100 mark.

I'm inviting declarations of interest as we would block book the venue and it seats 52.

The alternative for Saturday evening will be the food and drink 'village' that will be established in the hill climb paddock at Bromyard.
