Thanks Ian,
Doing the rest will take some time. It's not very hard work but there is lots of it......but the result will be fine!
ill post more pictures as more gets done.
Getting close Halbe. Any idea when it might be ready for the road?
Do you have the original guttering? We have a member that is interested in the construction of the guttering. On my fabric saloon, it looks like it is a steel J-section covered in fabric, but it isn't obvious, without removing it, how it is constructed/covered.
My aim is summer 2015/16.... all depends on time/money
Yes i have the original guttering,Here are some pictures .It looks like a rubber profile (J like) covered in fabric, mine also needs replacing......
Good idea - and to Paul Beck Vintage Supplies and Woolies in the UK - the two leading vintage coach trimming suppliers. I can supply contact details if you could supply an inch of the guttering.
Outstanding. So much restoration work doesn't show, but fabric workd certainly does highlight progress. So that rear panel is bolted in for good now? Did you use any heat to get those quarter panels smoothly covered, or did you just pull the fabric like hell? Or both?!
Bolting everthing up is the last step .......first is doing all the individual panels and making all the strips/beading? between the body and the rearwings ,rearpanel and the beading between the bonnet and the body. Then it's bolting up time.
Fitting the doors to check for even gaps ect ect ect
The "problem" i have with the fabric is not so much not enough material but where to leave the surplus......I get a little better at this everytime i have to do this.
Force is something i certainly use and heat not nearly as much..
