And yet another.
For some time I have heard about an exceptional 2-seater in the North Sussex area and this morning managed to track it down.
It has been owned by Mike Sisley since 1964 and has been rebuilt and meticulously maintained during his ownership.
Chassis 26275

Philip

Re: Andrew Batey
Ian, so sorry to hear this news. I fondly remember last summer having mixed Andrew up with someone else and wittered on for about ten minutes before his increasing bemusement gradually dawned on me what I had done, his tolerance and good humour made a lasting impression.

Re: Side valve Morris cam washer
Found it, o/d 1.745", i/d 0.957", thickness 0.0625". Incidentally I recall a Minor owner, who rebuilt his engine a couple of years ago, drilled a series of holes in this washer as he felt the rear cam lobes were starved of oil. You already have a report and some photos for the Brookla...

Apologies, went to VSCC Brooklands driving tests today, will definitely measure the washer tomorrow.

Ian,
It's a plain washer that fits in front of the roller bearing, I'll try and find one to measure tomorrow.

Re: Christmas virtual pub meet
I had originally intended to make Brooklands my destination, but on reflection, I think I will avoid the crowds and go to the VSCC meeting at The Barley Mow, West Horsley.

Re: "New" Minor?
Ian, At last a follow-up, even though the owner is not the "joining sort" when help is needed people know where to come, which is what the old car thing is all about. "Jo" sounds like it has "run an end" which when called for advice gave me an opportunity to check out t...

Great job Ian, might stimulate interest from non-members and provoke responses from people who might have information pertaining to our cars.

Re: Oil pressure and low power
The morris 8 engines used with the generator sets in Centurion tanks had a modifies pressure relief valve set to 100 p.s.i. didn't seem to do them much harm. The ex-military engine fitted to my 8 tourer starts at 100 dropping to about 55 when hot, I think anyone who has followed it will agree it goe...

Ian,
With regard to the expanding reamer, this firm sell them so cheap it's not worth the hassle of posting back and forth a borrowed one.

Re: Austin Morris Day, Brooklands, 9th March
Superb weather, much better trip than I anticipated the CMS going very well and once used to, a very pleasant drive. 75 miles in 2 1/2 hours on non motorway/dual carriageway roads is not to be sneezed at and not much slower than that achieved in my 8 Tourer. Only two minors, I will send pics to you ...

Ian,
I see a number of firms supply a 45 foot container and also offer a "pallet sized" model which is 8 feet wide internally, would it be possible to fit four cars into one of these if loaded at an angle?
