Re: KR 5670
Ian, Don't think it is BSP, have taken my one out and measured it, major dia. 0.872, TPI 20, angle 55 deg. The only suitable thread appears to be a very rare 7/8" UNEF. Unfortunately I have gone ahead and purchased a very period looking tap with reserve, filter and ethanol proof, also an adapto...

Morris Register South Coast Run 21st April 2013
Entries from VMR members welcomed for this the oldest event on the MR calendar. Originally the "London to Brighton", beginning in the early '60's, the event gradually moved it's starting point from the West end of London to the North Downs of Surrey as traffic conditions deteriorated and r...
Re: KR 5670
Ian, Do you know offhand what thread is used into the tank? Is it BSP? I have found a m/cycle tap on e-bay which is ethanol proof and has on/off and reserve capabilities. It is also reasonably priced at GBP 12.

Philip

Re: KR 5670
Ian, Did you sort the fuel tap? My early minor has the tap soldered up, presumably due to leaks, and whilst usable would be good to incorporate a reserve facility. I'm sure I have seen some motorcycle taps that work on the same principle as the scuttle tank minor taps but be blowed if I can locate t...

Excellent choice Toby, bit far for us as a monthly meet but will try and adjust one of our annual pilgrimages to the NF to coincide.

Re: Christmas virtual pub meet
Just back from a non-virtual (probably actual!) pub where in between a couple of pints of Harveys Old and a Glenlivet I met an acquaintance who I hadn't seen for a few years. Smashing bloke, one of the best mechanics I've ever known and used to do the odd job for me when something special came into ...

Re: Wanted :Remote gear change for 4-speed box
I know the two ends are cast and machined but surely they could be fabricated from solid if you have the loan of originals or good dimensional drawings? The gear lever doesn't look too difficult either.

Ian,
No McEvoy remote but do you want the cross-shaft before or at Pre-War Prescott 2013?

P.

Re: Brake bodges
Now I didn't specify which Wednesday did I? Much water under many bridges, but, hopefully pics of jig Mk 4, and repaired backplates by a "soon to be specified" Wednesday. If there is anyone in the Sussex area who is prepared to help with the restoration of the frame and tinwork, yes I will...

Don't understand these things too well but could one of us be harbouring a "Trojan Horse" type virus that is allowing these posts?

Ah, so that's what it says in gobbledegook.
Re: N5490
Hmm, Looks like a load of rubbish, item is on e-bay under aeronautical bits & pieces, 1931 inscribed tankard.
