Stewart,
Probably too late, but I think that I could make good use of this for a Special project if it's still available.
Paul.

Re: Running board rubbers
Yes Ian....1934 model Morris cars had rounded ali moulding along the length with quite thin specially shaped end pieces to match the shape of the main moulding. The standard square edging often seen fitted all round for these cars is quite wrong. The Morris logo did not appear on the rubber either.....

Re: And still they turn up!
Yes, it certainly looks like a 1932 season long wheelbase Eight front bumper. It has the correct replica Morris radiator shape centre clamp / number plate support holder in place. Unfortunately, on a swb car, unless you mount them on a pair of ohc triangular brackets, they always look the wrong heig...

Re: And still they turn up!
Surely that side valve saloon must still be about somewhere....it looked very tidy and up together in the superb photo posted elsewhere. Look at the door shut lines.....near perfect.....most unusual ! Probably a bit like my first car...DG 7729....a 1933 reg saloon.......known to have survived and be...

Re: hydraulic brakes
Toby, Had similar symptoms on my Series Land Rover.......due to collapsed flexi hose. People had warned me this could happen with flexi hoses but I never believed it until I saw it with my own eyes. I have a similar problem at present with my MG B. Nothing coming out of either rear bleed nipple, dep...

Re: VMR Summer Rally 2009
I know this sounds obvious, but are you sure that the wheel nuts are of the correct type. I have no idea what "the correct type" are, but it seems to me that if the hub is properly installed (as per Alister's wise words) the nuts should not come undone or studs shear...unless of course the...

Re: Morris Register
I doubt if there is anything wrong with AOC 444. The number is a Birmingham one dating from May 1934.

Re: Prop coupling bolt failure
Is this a flexible coupling ? If so, yes. It did a lot of damage to the metal rear floor of my 10/4.....wouldn't like to think what it would do to the wooden back end on a Minor. One bolt went, followed immediately by another and the prop shaft then described a large arc smashing into the pressed st...

Re: photo effects
Alister, yes indeed, a famous and lovely publicity photo. I have a copy hanging on my wall obtained from the Morris archives at Cowley back in the 70's when Ken Revis was running it. You can almost smell the warm engine of the little car and the woodsmoke from the cottages can't you ? Absolutely glo...

Re: buckled wheel/tyres
I had a similar experience back in the sixties when I took a newly painted (Humbrol Enamel !) wheel from the Minor to have a tyre fitted. Ever since, I've always fitted them myself by using the Dunlop levers as found in my 10/4 tool kit....but always placing a piece of rag between lever and rim. Not...

Re: Minors at War
Ian, In those days I worked for the Government Department resposible for maintaining all the RAF Stations (and other MoD establishments) in Southern England. I used to visit all them on a regular basis and the big perk was always a decent lunch in the Officers Mess. The one at White Waltham was a ve...

Re: Minors at War
A rare privilege indeed Ian. These old boys are getting fewer and fewer and the tragedy is that few people were that interested in their stories back in the 50's and 60's when there were so more of them about. These pilots, the bravest of the brave, very often couldn't even drive a car and it is a f...

Ian, The VMR is a small club and I think that your efforts in producing the hard copy magazine over all this time is little short of heroic. I agree entirely with Tony.....time to move on. It would indeed be excellent to have a lower subscription rate for those happy to receive on line news only. I ...
