Re: 1931 OHC tourer for sale

Mike, Well, it would certainly give Minor a run for its money !!
Do you know, I rather like it ! I now fully expect to be kicked off the forum.

Re: Tyres

Excelsior tyres are first class and reasonable prices. I have them on the 10/4. Got mine from North Hants Tyres in Fleet.

Re: Paul Finn Rally Ascot

Yes thanks, Mike, fine. Regards to you and yours too. It seems in those days there were old cars almost down every turning....if only we had had the space and cash !! It was through Barry Gillies that I eventually found the 10/6 tourer again in about 1977...it had gone to earth.....I first found it ...

Re: Paul Finn Rally Ascot

Oh Lordy, mouth open before brain in gear. Apologies Halbe, no offence ! Nothing at all wrong with Belgium except that I would have loved to have been able to revisit and perhaps drive RD 3784 again a bit nearer to home !! I only hope that she has been able to retain her original number in case she ...

Re: Paul Finn Rally Ascot

Old mans wanderings again, but just up the road on the other side of the cross roads from Creswells Garage lived an old chap by the name of Thomson. It was at his smallholding in 1966 that I discovered he was using the 1932 Olympia Show Morris Ten Special Coupe (RD 3784). Naturally I purchased....wit...

Re: UX9251

Good luck Toby. What magic to see the name of John Wrigley on that flyer again. He was indeed the "home of the Morris Minor".......when I first had DG 7729 in 1963, he and Clares Motor Works of Tooting were about the only people you could get parts from !

Re: To restore or not to restore

Here I am Alister...just back from a week in Swanage touring with the Minor 1000....sheer delight. I totally agree with your sentiments. I don't care how well they have been done, a restored car never feels QUITE the same as one which has never been totally apart. There are of course times when you ...

Re: Disturbing news

I agree with Alister..... publish their names and strike them off the Register....we do not need this form of pond life in the vintage movement.

Re: Minors for auction

I don't think that you are missing anything here Ian, but the fact is that the market is currently awash with old cars as people move forward to vehicles a little more able to take regular fast use on our busy roads in UK. For much the same money as as a good Minor, you can buy something a little fa...

Re: Magazine

I would imagine that the Minor was dismantled in the late 60's for a restoration which did not happen. Certainly, when John Gowin got it in 1976 it really was a series of tea chests and the bodywork only loosely hung together. David Cooksey from Wokingham re-attached the rear body and I think re-pan...

Re: Magazine

Alister, I knew when we first met that the correct registration number of your Minor rang some bells. I hold a lot of totally useless information in my head and registration numbers are but one rather sad example ! John Gowin was a mate of mine (actually, he was Best Man at our wedding in 1972 ! ) a...

Obliged. The fun always used to be in receiving the hard copy. The download is never quite the same, but times change I guess.
