Re: Gear selectors, urgent advice needed
On the centre rod, at about the mid point there is a hole to carry a ball(s).
Should there be one or two balls in this hole?
Assume there is no spring

Gearbox oil.
It was suggested that I try Red Line lightweight shockproof gear oil.
It is a synthetic specifically formulated for straight cut gears
The result is less noise and easier gear changes.
How have others found this product?

M type and Minor brake shoes.
In the 1929 Minor manual it states of the brake shoes :- .......care must be taken to see that they are replaced in the right position. The spring eyes are not quite in the centre of the shoes, but are offset. The shoes should be replaced so that the spring eyes are on that half of is the shoe which...

Only able to make the Saturday, but what a super day.
Perfect weather, excellent company with a good diversity of cars, rounded off with the Hurricane display before the BBQ.
Thank you Ian and Jayne for all your hard work and efforts.

Re: Christmas virtual pub meet
The Baron at Bucknell Shropshire, 7 miles East of Knighton will be the VSCC meeting in the Welsh Marches.
Good beer and food, large car park.
Will use M type if fine, Alvis if cold, modern if it as wet and flooded as last year!

Sorry Ian, like Martin I have no wish to "socially network" via the web.
I hope this move does not lead to a reduction in the use of the forum.

Re: Summer Rally and Pre-War Prescott 2014
Ian, thank you for all your efforts in organizing a super day at Prescott today despite the awful weather. Sorry to have let the side down by using a modern but 120 mile round trip in an M type is no longer the fun or challenge, in pouring rain, that it would have been 50 years ago. Must be getting ...
