Re: Y329

Hi Ewan When I picked my car up it came with heaps of parts. Possibly enough to make 2 cars allthough one of the chassis is as bad if not worse than yours. I would be interested in hearing how you have gone about repairing tour chassis, because the badly rusted one I have is matching numbers with th...

Re: Battery terminals

Hi Mike
For my 1929 OHC minor the cutout should be a Lucas ERCFI I think............or so the parts list indicates.
It is a 6 volt cutout with a fusebox and cover incorporated into the unit under the cut out. Hope that makes sense
Thanks

Re: A simple question........

It could also be an HT lead breaking down. Check the plugs if one seems oily and dirty compared to the others it could be a misfire on that cylinder, ie HT lead breaking down. The other test for them is to put an ohm meter at the end of each HT lead and check the resistance of each. If one is majorl...

Re: Rear axles

Hi Ian Yep the other chassis under the car in the photos is in very good condition. It is highly likely i will end up using this chassis. The chassis on the car is almost non existant in the engine bay area. I checked the good chassis this morning and it appears to be M6626 I think. There appears to...

A set of the right early reasonable wheelscame with it. So there is a set of later wheels available if anyone needs them. Also came w...

Re: Wiring

My information indicates that wiring harnesses as such were not manufactured until about 1930 by Lucas. So this would tie in with the loose wires in the parts list and the loose wires on Halbes car and a harness proper on the SV's. Lucas around the early 30s, developed a 33 colour cable spec until a...

Re: Wiring

Hi Tony and Halbe I will be making a new harness for my car but only have a few remnants left and no dashboard. However I will be able to make one up from the wiring diagram and taking measurments off the car. Not the preferred option. The price will depend on a number of things. One of these will b...

Wiring

Hi All Not sure if anyone is interested or not, but I now have the ability to manufacture wiring harnesses to original Lucas specs. If any of you are really into originality I am also one of the few people worldwide that has the original herringbone pattern braided cotton cables for our Minors. I al...
