Mike,
The cables are for an M type the part number is 1030J in the price list these are £35 plus VAT each
The support brackets are about £7. The cables come with the chassis mounting blocks so with the support brackets for the stub axles you have all you need to covert the car over.
Cheers

Re: Engine installation......
I put DF's engine back in with the gearbox on - never again! I have an engine crane and the angle was quite steep as Tony says, but I did manage on my own and did not break anything although I did scratch the firewall a bit. I put a rope around the gap between the sump and the rear housing and anoth...

Re: front brake cable conversion.
I use MG M type Bowden cables from Sports and Vintage, I know a lot of others use these as well. I don't remember exactly how much they cost but then I don't remember passing out when I saw the bill either! You have to make brackets to hold the wheel end still or use the MG stub axle brackets which ...

Re: Carb needles....
I use an M9 in DF, it needs a little choke from cold, and if you drive straight away a little more! However I do get 40-45 mpg and it does not run overly hot and has a good plug colour. This is with a top fed float chamber and a 7/8 carb.

Re: Which Oil is Best ?
Hi Sam, There was a debate some time ago about oil in Minor engines. DF had Castrol R which is a 40 grade, many people swear by this oil many others like the smell! However you can't mix this with anything else so it can be a problem if you run low on a journey, it also costs quite a bit. After DF's...

Re: 1932 Season Minor two seater on Carandclassic
As this is the model we all voted most desirable I expect it to be snapped up!
Part of me can't help thinking that this is just too much money.

Re: VG2007
The chassis do seem to be less rust prone than a Morris 8, I spent quite a bit of time welding mine up. The worst place on the Minor is the front arms where the front wing bolts along the chassis, water seems to get trapped in between the wings, the finishing plates and the chassis. Excellent pictur...

Re: Exhaust.....
Great stuff! Halbe your picture shows exactly the same silencer as my car, and from what Ian says we can get these silencers from the Cooke Group. An alternative might be Gideon Booth. If the Cooke Group do silencers would they do the pipes as well? Although from the sounds of it the M type rear pip...

Re: Exhaust.....
There is a chap local to me who might do a small batch, he does fancy stuff for racing teams and Ferrari v12's I'll check him out. He only does mild steel but uses thick walled tube so they last a long time anyway. Stainless does change the sound but not that much the MG has one and it still has a g...

Re: Exhaust.....
I have been needing a new exhaust for a while, the baffles have come loose in the silencer and it makes a terrible rattle! I can't find any where where I can get the original pattern silencer with the cone shaped ends - I personally think these make a better noise! Perhaps the VMR could get a batch ...

Re: Light Car Welsh - 29th/30th March
I am sure there will be other Minors out, as you say it normally gets quite a few. We missed last year as the engine was out so very much looking forward to the event as our last outing was the Welsh Rally in October '07. I hope that we can do better than our first go at the Light Car weekend. Last ...

Eight on line at a time - and I missed it! Work has been hectic over the last month just not getting any time on line, when I do sit at the computer the kids grab it off me, hence being up at 6:30 on a Saturday! Off to marshall on the Hereford Trial today, looking forward to getting very wet! Cheers...

Re: Minor Body Identification Markings
I have a picture somewhere of the coachbuilt wooden frame, I'll dig it out, I printed this off a web site so it must be online somewhere! It is interesting the way the fabric body was built in sections and bolted(?) together. The roof is very similar to the coach built despite not having the folding...

Re: Unlikely cars that 'Float your Boat'!!
I think Tony should be the "Minor" secret weapon in the Lewis and Nicholson - it may be the only way the Minors will ever win! Jowett were working on a Jupiter R4 model when they went bust, I thought this was a flat four like the Javelin and Jupiter models but it had a lighter body and pla...
