Re: Cast welding/brazing

I'll post some photos tomorrow (well... ) I think I may have found someone on a forum relating to my other hobby that can TIG braze it for the time being until another turns up. There is a post in the wanted section.
Thanks
Andrew

Cast welding/brazing

A bit of big ask, sorry. I was wondering if there was anyone locally (suffolk/essex/norfolk) with facilities to weld or braze cast iron. we are of course, more than happy to pay for time/materials. Our manifold is in a pretty sorry state as the exhaust flange has been broken off and been very poorly...

Re: RT 8431

Right, A progress update. The new battery should be delivered either Thursday or Friday, though they did say that three weeks ago and it never materialized. Well still hasn't turned up... But we now have loan of a battery for testing purposes!!! :D To start with it wouldn't pump fuel but that is no...

Right, A progress update. The new battery should be delivered either Thursday or Friday, though they did say that three weeks ago and it never materialized. Once I have that I'll fit the remaining wiring. I now have a prop shaft coupling, thanks to Chris Lambert for that. I have ordered M8 bolts and...

Re: THREADS

I think UNF is just the new name for the old NF American thread. They are the same, just under a different name.

Wanted: OHC manifold

Hi
I'm looking for a new manifold for a OHC engine. the flange the exhaust pipe bolts onto has completely snapped off years ago and has been poorly brazed back on, though I doubt it would stand up to any road vibration. Or would consider if someone was able to cast weld it for me.
Thanks
Andrew

Re: THREADS

For those of us who have hydraulic brakes, the rear banjo is 1/2 UNF. I don't know about the front, I haven't checked yet!

I don't think I'm too far away from having it on the road. I've drawn up the list and it only has 8 points!!!

Re: A few questions

Ah, Ok the original tail lamps have been replaced with combined brake and tail lamps, though they look alright, quite in keeping with the car. I'll have to modify the wiring loom as someone (DAD!!!!!) has used a Morris 8 wiring loom so there are some slight diffrences.

Re: A few questions

Hi Andrew, I looked up 1/4" BSW and M8 threads and it looks like they may not be interchangeable. Where do you need to use 1/4" Whit bolts? I'm not too worried about the actual thread, just the OD being the same. They would be for bolting the prop shaft onto the fibre couplings, there are...

A few questions

Sorry about the list, just I'm away from RT for a couple of weekends so I'm going through in my mind what I need to get, to get on with it. Threads. Does anyone know if a M8 bolt will fit in the hole a 1/4"W bolt came out of? I'm finding it nigh on impossible to find 1/4"W castle nuts on t...
