Re: NV 2803 - 1933 McEvoy Special

Coming on Ian...!! Is it my eyes, or are the two front dumbirons not symmetrical either..! the right one (in picture) looks to curve in more to me...... hopefully just the angle of the picture!! I suspect that body builders back then had basic tools, not the high tech stuff that could be used today,...

Re: M type g/b bits.

I was recently lucky enough to win an entire 3spd box complete with an intact casing for a mere £75......... i only really bought it for the case, as my two spare ones each have at least one of not two lugs broken off!

Re: VG2007

Halbe......... how come you've painted the copper oil pipes on the plug side, but not the feed on the carb side...???? i personally prefer to see them in copper, but not polished........ i'm sure they wouldn;t have been from factory..!

Don;t forget to take a video when you do the start up!!!!!!!!!

Re: Carburetter

Lee, its odd that you say your cam gave you more torque... on my engine i found it gave more power, but less bottom end torque..... not that it had much before, but seems more peaky now.........

Re: Ignition timing

When doing the timing on older engines, i find that the engine will tell you when its happy........ and likewise when its not......... get it running and see where its happiest.....

Re: VG2007

I thought you were going to build an engine stand........ not a chassis for the workshop run-around!! looks far too smart to simply be a test bed!

Re: Rocker problem

We have these new type fingers on MT now, and the engine came back with a minor cover fitted.... so i can only assume he ground the bolts back to gain clearance....... although, knowing him he most likely sourced shallower headed bolts!

Re: Help needed with OHC engine

The description makes it sound like worn bevel gears......... they were the only parts not available new when we rebuilt our engine..... if it were worn keyways you wouldn;t see the gear jump, just the shaft....
