Re: The VMR monthly Newsletter

I just circulated the January Newsletter via e-mail. By including a link to the Newsletter, and not actually attaching it, it looks like we've got around the problem of around 140 recipients with @btinternet.com addresses having their e-mails bounced as possible spam. If you didn't receive a copy, j...

Re: New Year's Day pub meets

I understand that people came and went from about 1030 to well into the afternoon, with six cars turning up in the afternoon, coming back from the Much Marcle meet.

The same was true for the Pembridge meet where several cars arrived from the Much Marcle meet.

Re: New Year's Day pub meets

We were at the New In at Pembridge - about a dozen cars present. I heard that there were about 150 cars at Much Marcle, but that was further for us, and this was the first real trip out in the fabric saloon - about 14 miles each way from our cottage. New Year's day meets vary a lot - from a handful ...

Re: Christmas virtual pub meet

Don't understand the problem. I used to commute up the M1 weekly in my SV 2-seater to RAF Henlow from Wokingham. Winter of 1978. I also had no sidescreens - the snow came in one side and out the other!

Happy days!

Simon Johnson received his in Northers Ireland today, so UK members should be getting theirs soon!

I posted on the US, Canada and Japanese copies this afternoon.

Re: Christmas virtual pub meet

Good luck. If you do get the Minor out, please take some photos. We arrive at the cottage the day before, so we will be busy sorting the place and getting logs, Christmas tree, etc. in! Still hoping the roads will be salt-free so we can get the fabric saloon out. I don't mind using it the wet, but s...

Re: Christmas virtual pub meet

Last few days before we fly to London on Friday, arriving Saturday morning. Monitoring the snow closely as I want to use the fabric saloon over Christmas, but not if there is salt on the roads. Hopefully it will have washed away by New Year's Day at lease so we can take it to the New Inn at Pembridg...

Re: The VMR Magazine

Good grief. Mine should be with me today for onward posting to the USA, Canada and Japan. I always receive mine a couple of weeks after everyone else.

Is there a postal strike at the moment in Britain?

Re: The VMR Magazine

Has anyone received their M 183 yet? I should be getting mine tomorrow, so I hope everyone in the UK has theirs by now?

Re: Morris Minor G.P.O. vans

Adding the chassis numbers (and also registration months) will take some time. Unfortunately, Registration numbers and service numbers were allocated in batches so it was easy to add them in batches of up to 100 or more. However, looking at another data source, the registration numbers were allocate...

Morris Minor G.P.O. vans

I have been meaning to research the Minor G.P.O. vans in details for some time. I have managed to accumulate a vast amount of data, but I have noe had a chance to produce a Morris Minor G.P.O. Van 'Genome'. And, as with the OHC and SV Genomes, its all fiterable, so its possible to do some stats on t...

Re: MG 100

Indeed. We bought a Vauxhall Astra from Nick Williams earlier in the year - as our runaround. It's pre-onboard computers and everything is manual. So much less to go wrong. I've got a 1996 XK8 over here in Seattle - also mostly pre-computer, except it has all sorts of engine sensors that control the...
