Insulation Block
I've been perusing the Burlen Fuels' SU website and came across an insulation block for the OM carburetter. There isn't one fitted to my car. When looking at the length of the threaded studs on the manifold they don't appear to be long enough to accommodate such a thing. I assume Morris didn't fit t...

Re: Slow Running Control
I've just come back in from spending 20 mins in the garage. My assumption that there should be a gap between the knob and the mounting plate is clearly wrong. I've tried it and the serrated 'friction' plate won't work in that set-up. I hadn't considered the location of the dashboard having an impact...

Re: Slow Running Control
Thanks again, Ian, for your detailed explanation. I have studied a drawing in a Morris parts booklet and the rod and associated fittings is all present and correct. That's good. With it all fitted in place I guess there should be a gap on the rod between the knob and the mounting fixture, so as you ...

Re: Slow Running Control
Thanks Ian, I've just come across a photo I've taken previously, so the parts in question are not the focus of the shot, and you can see the mechanism I have fitted. Does it look right or wrong? The female thread is actually mullered, so it's currently useless. I had the full mechanism connected up,...

Slow Running Control
Can someone give me a good description on how the rod is attached to the pedal controls under the floorboard? A photo or two would be great, too. Thanks.

Re: VMR monthly pub meets at The Fountain Inn, Oldwood
Having done 100 miles over the weekend I've discovered that the engine hasn't used any oil
the level is still sitting at Max.

Re: VMR monthly pub meets at The Fountain Inn, Oldwood
Another good meeting. I followed Joe as far as Ombersley and passed him on the A449. His little Tourer was bowling along very nicely, with no sign of smoke or whiff out the exhaust... unlike my car
I got home without incident, unlike yesterday's little run to a breakfast car meet.

Re: WANTED - Rear Leaf Springs
I thought it worth an ask before I commit to buying brand new springs.

WANTED - Rear Leaf Springs
I'm looking for a decent pair of rear springs to fit my 1932 Minor Two-Seater. The pair on the car have flattened out and greatly reduced the gap between the top of the tyres and the underside of the wings.

Lubricating Leaf Springs
The springs on my 1932 Minor are making a heck of a racket as I'm going down the road. I was wondering if brushing on some old engine/transmission oil would stop them from creaking. Is that a good or bad idea?

Re: What fuel for our Minors?
Just noticed this thread from a few years back. As an update, I've done many thousands of miles on E10 (and only E10) without any bottled additives, and the little Minor is still ploughing the King's Highways and Byways.

Ah! I thought that was Clive with the Delage. A very different machine to his old Cammy Tourer.

Re: Gearbox oil
Yesterday's chat about transmission oil has just lead me to do an oil change on the gearbox. I'll take the lil Morris for a run later this evening and report back. Hopefully find a change from 90 grade to the correct 140 will improve the gear change... and the racket coming from 1st and 2nd gears :l...

Re: Engine Revs
I do have a brand new spindle and a few other parts from a Burlen kit I bought when I part-rebuilt the carburettor back in 2017. I just decided not to go too deep on the rebuild at the time.
