Current Restorations
By way of inspiration
for those who need it,
here is a selection
of photographs of current vintage Minor rebuilds.
If YOU are rebuilding, please send in a photo or two to share with us.
Your Registrar's Semi-sports - the Bed-Pan,
the ex-Captain Angus Hambro LJ 4435 (M27342) is coming along well in Grand
Rapids, Michigan.
Here we see the trial fitting of windscreen,
hood frame and sidescreens before the car goes away to be paneled prior
to fabric covering.
The engine and front wings are currently
in work in England and will be reunited with the car shortly.
John Foreshaw is rebuilding this unique
1930 Maltby Special down in Fordingbridge, Hampshire.
KJ 7706 (M30992) still retains the original
Maltby Coachworks badge on the dashboard.
John is Curator of the Breamore House Museum
in Fordingbridge.
Another Semi-sports under rebuild is Brian
Ellams' VJ 3156 (M29128).
Brian has owned this car for 33 years and
has been restoring it for some time.
The superb new body was built by Keith
Bowley at Aston Keynes Vintage Restorations.
Brian is currently working on the engine,
and we hope to see VJ out on the road very soon.
Herbert Blairs's replica CMS Special UR
4904 (M14434) has an Enrique Llinares body which Herbert is modifying slightly.
Herbert has owned this car for 25 years.
The logbook which dates back to 1949 quotes the car
as being a 2-seater, but the chassis originally
carried saloon coachwork.
Ian Jones of Fairlie, New Zealand is rebuilding
this delightful Minor special (M8590) in Jarvis MG style.
Ian is a retired garage owner, so certainly
knows what he is doing!
