A Minor special in Switzerland

Post by Ian Grace »

Image

Not exactly eye candy, this '33 Minor competed in the 2005 Michaelskreuz hillclimb near Lucerne in southern Switzerland.

Judging by the length of the running boards, I'd say this was built on a LWB chassis.

The driver appears to be surrendering ... :?

Have a close look at the front valance covering the the front shackles of the front springs - this makes it a LWB chassis. The next question is - is it an OHV or SV Minor.

Good point - not a blower cover, and interesting question - it has the 1933 season radiator which was first fitted to the 1932 season OHC LWB, and those may be the 9" Lockheed brakes of the OHC?

I think the windscreen is from the Bismarck. :D

Alister,

It must be you because I never wear a "flat hat".

I thought it looked like the lockheed brakes.... I wear a flat hat in the minor as a homburg or bowler won't fit in the saloon and will not stay on in the tourer! I like to wear it with the peak to the rear like Edwardian "scorchers" :D
if it's got wheels or chips - it'll cost you dear

One of my pet hates is seeing people driving their vintage cars and wearing baseball caps! :x
