Out and about today

Post by Ian Grace »

Fun day today - started my refresher flight training at Everett (Paine Field). This is the main Boeing facility where the 747, 767, 777 the new Dreamliner 787 is made. It also houses the Seattle Museum of Flight's Restoration Centre and at least two warbird collections.

This is the 152 I am flying - it belongs to BEFA - the Boeing Employees Flying Association which I have joined as a guest member.

This B-52 is owned by the Museum of Flight. That is a brand new 777 behind.

Four new 787 Dreamliners - one as yet unpainted. The prototype is on the right. It takes Boeing three days to assemble one of these from parts flown in from all over the world in massive converted 747 freighters called Dreamlifters.

This B-25 Mitchell took off just as I was leaving. As you can see it is in RAF and D Day markings. It was recently bought by a Seattle lawyer and ferried across the Atlantic. Apparently, the owner also owns several other warbirds, including two P-51's. I'm obviously in the wrong business! :?
