1934 Minor Touring engine colour

Post by parthmehd »

Well, I am finally making good progress in having the engine of my 1934 SV Minor Tourer rebuilt and hopefully I might be able to have it finished before the weekend. Now the question is, what colour should I paint the engine ? Can anyone tell me what the original colour of the engine used to be ?

I am sure Minors had black engines, many have been painted dark green over the years but this is a later colour and not correct for Minors.

cheers

Agreed. Remember that, once assembled, our cars were loaded in a roller cradle in the Cowley paint shop, flipped over and then all the undersides sprayed - black. The engine would have looked very 'modern art' if painted any other colour! :o
