Dave Manning up in Derbyshire tells me that he is posting his Minor saloon on eBay.

Dave has been working on the car for many years, but now reports that he has no more time to devote to the car.

More details shortly.

nice project... I see it still has the running board rubber, a while ago i asked about the possibility of getting some of these but there seemed to be no interest. Is it true you have a mould for these ian? Could Parth get them sourced in india (out of india rubber :D )? It would be nice to compete with the A*****s who seem to be able to get branded rubber parts!

Toby,

Yes, I do have the mould for these running boards. It is over in Michigan right now but should be over here shortly. It uses Devcon Flexane 2-pack rubber mix and this is what I have on the Semi-sports. The drawback? As always with Minor spares, the cost of the Flexane makes each rubber over GBP 30, and this has deterred owners from ordering. Unfortunately, of course, there is little or no discount for quantity.

could a different compound be possible? I still think £30 is a fair price for a genuine style rubber! Would bulk buying of compound if there were enough wanted help? :?

The problem with Devcon is that you have to mix it in very precise quantities, and doing this from bulk, as the stuff is so gooey is not easy. When the mould gets over here later this year, I'll look into it again. I am certainly very pleased with the results on the Semi-sports.

As for the saloon, lots of people looking, and fence sitting with 6 days to go.

I'll see what I can do - there is a good chance the mould will be here in the next few months - possibly sooner.

Over thhe weekend I'll try to remember to post a close-up pic of the mats on the Semi-sports that were made with this mould. Give me a kick if I forget!

I am visiting the Bormans on Sunday morning to kick off the rebuild of their Hundred Pound Minor, so I should have some news on that front too.

Looks like it sold - for GBP 2,250 - a good buy for someone - not many vintage cars in this condition for that sort of money, I would have thought. Should be on the road for under 3K? Let's hope the new owner actually DOES get it back on the road ...
