OK chaps, slightly off the vintage topic, but here goes anyway. Our daughter is in the UK and looking for a modern car over there. We travel to the UK every summer to run the rallies and visit family, English pubs, etc. So we hire a car at confiscatory rates. The thinking is to provide our daughter with a car whcic we can use when in the UK in the summer and we would put in to the car what we will be saving in hire charges.
But we need a good sized car for four of us plus all our luggage and clobber, but she will want a car that does more than ten miles to the gallon.
So the question is - what sort of cars should we be looking at? Possibly an estate car with not too big an engine? I'd suggest a Morris Traveller but somehow I don't think that is quite her style!
