Hi all in morris land

I think that I may of found the problem

Locating bolt on bell housing for clutch shaft i think that the shaft has went beyond its stopper
causing fingers and bearing to fail.

I have lined it up without locating bolt and I have clutch back in operation, I am having new bolt made as I have had to
re-tap the hole to suit.

Has anyone out there encountered similar problem

Any comments would be most welcome

Aha!

So I think you mean the clutch pedal stop bolt on the driver's side, which has a lock nut to stop it unscrewing and falling off. Early bell housings weren't drilled for such a bolt, so I'm not sure exactly how the early cars didn't have the problem of the forks popping out of the thrust bearing carrier when the pedal was over-depressed - presume thet relied on the floorboard to do the job!
