Good point Jeremy but finding drawings and the manufacture of other unique parts could make building such a car a lot more expensive than an M Type for which many specialised parts are available from Sports and Vintage and others.
Having said that, if anyone knows of the where abouts of drawings, photographs or better still a complete or incomplete vehicle with a body from a specialist coachbuilder, please let me (and the rest of our community)know.

Hi All.
My name is Trevor Wilkinson, I am retired and live in rural Bedfordshire, about a mile from the Shuttleworth Collection at Old Warden.
I have a 1934 2 seat Minor that I bought in November 1997 (UN 6979)
The car is in regular use, my most ambitious trip was a tour of Eire via Holyhead last year.
Gren Strickland first got me involved with the VMR and I have since become one of the regulars of the "Anglian Chapter"

Hi all,
I'm Chris Lambert and live in an appropriately flat part of the UK, namely Suffolk. I am semi retired and another member of the Anglian crew. I have two Minors, a 1930 Coachbuilt saloon and a similar vintage Semi Sports. I have been a club member since 2002 and competed in the saloon at a VSCC at Colern where I didn't achieve slowest time of the day!
My ambition is to compete in a VSCC speed event in the Semi Sports at somewhere like Prescott, but I think I have more chance of winning the national lottery than getting an entry in a Minor at this prestigeous VSCC event.

Lovely Car Halbe! My late Uncle bought a MKII 1.5 4 seater back in the early 1960s. It was the first proper PVT car I rode in! My Cousin now owns it.

Good luck with your search for an M type - why not get one thats finished, they often go for a song.

Three open two seaters taken at my local airfield.

A photo of my '34 SV with two Moths, I took a short flight over the area in the yellow Moth and nearly froze, (they are a lot faster than Minors)

I asked the pilot what speed we were flying at, he said, "I am doing the same speed as you, the dial is in front of you."

No, I'm not looking for a finished car, I really enjoy the proces of restoring a car and bringing her back to an more or less original state.
It is also a way to get to know your car so much better.
Maybe not the easiest , but for me the most rewarding way.

Thanks Halbe - sounds like my cousin Paul has sold the Aston since I last spoke to him. Shame, but I suspect it will now get used again which will be nice. I am trying to find out about the MG in the picture and will let you know.

I understand what you mean about restoring the M type yourself, but as I don't have adequate workshop facilities, or deep pockets, I tend to look for runners that only need mild fetling.

My pockets are probably the same size as yours, but I do have a nice garage and some of the skils to restore a car.
Not all Aston Martin owners are of the millioner variety ,some are just lucky people who's father bought a nice car in a period when the hobbie was more importent than the money.
I really don't feel at home in a place where people only think of theire cars as investments.
Anyway my project is out there somewhere , whether it's an MGM or something else.

Dear Halbe

Latest info on MG in photo is:
'According to the MGCC Register it is a K2 (c/n K2001) fitted with a Jensen body that was previously on a K3 (K3025). The car now seems to have the reg. no. UVF 19'
This came via the VSCC forum website which is a truly wonderous source of infomation. One of the forum contributers drove this very car - last week!

I am Roger Lucke and live near Cambridge. I work for the Medical Research Council and manage the Instrument Workshop at their LMB research facility in Cambridge. I bought the ex Harry Edwards CMS bodied Minor in 1999. Since then I have just about finished sorting it out mechanically


The CMS at Glandford Church during this years Norfolk holiday.
