Help - modern windbreak!

Post by Highlander »

Having just returned from Aberdeenshire in my F reg open Ford Escort I* find the back lash of wind when the hood is down too much. I had an open Astra of the same vintage which had as standard a wind break which covered the rear seats and hindged up behind the head rests. This worked very well and was made of mesh. I would like to lash something up like this for the Ford. Any idea where I can get this type of mesh? Does anyone make these windbreaks as a one off? Any ideas other than a scarf!!!! Any specialist makers on line? Yes I am getting soft but 51 years of open top motoring is taking its toll!! Highlander.

Alistair,

It might be worth giving the MG Owners Club a call (HQ in Swavesey, Cambridgeshire). I seem to recall that some time ago something similar was being offered for the MGB. They might be able to supply the name of whoever was making them.
All the best,

Paul.
