Puzzling Instrument Panel ?

Hi All

Look at the pics of the instrument panel below. What vehicle is it from ?

The speedo hole is circular , therefore 45 degree cable take off and not 90 degrees ! There are additional holes ..
for what ?

The bulb holder is present but with no display red lens hole !!

There are two connections for something between the switches.

Totally puzzling , and certainly NOT Minor.

So , come on you experts , what is it from.

It is for sale if anyone wants it .

Tony,
Any switchgear behind the panel? This has to be for a Morris 'Family' car - could it be for a Hornet? (I am no expert!) Pretty easy to date as between 1929 and no later than 1931 I would imagine.

I have been looking back at Halbe's minor and the work he is doing and on page three of Our Cars dated 19th Feb is a photo of an instrument panel on his car looks to me the same except the red light. On Halbes car this, to me looks as if it was "added" What do you all think? Highlander.

This panel is not the same as mine.
On my panel I don't have the two sockets for an electrical device , also the hole for the speedometer isn't just circular .

Do correct me when I'm wrong, I'm not the expert here ,but the panel I have does seem to be completely standard and was never messed with.

Your panel is identical to the two I have on my cars. All three are bog standard Minor panels!

I agree that Halbe's panel is the correct Minor one , I too have several identical.

I tend to agree with Chris that my "puzzle" panel must lie within the Morris " Family " of vehicles and could well be from a Wolseley.

I shall soon be putting it on EBay , unless anyone out there wants it , and perhaps that might bring in a response.

I have also found a picture of an early MG M Type dash and it is 100% identical to a standard Minor one , so no solution there either !

Oh Well . Someone will know one day.

I just checked my Wolseley Hornet illustrated part s list, and it shows a panel identical to the OHC Minor. It is not possible to see the cut-out under the speedo as the drawing shows the panel complete with instruments, but it does have the Lucal warning lamp red dot and I can see no difference, or reason for a difference. The speedo would have had a 90 degree drive like the Minor because it had the same scuttle tank in front of it and the body geometry was identical.

I once bought a replica panel from someone in the BSA club - very similar panels were fitted to the BSA three wheeler - that's what I'd put my money on this being, or some similar application

Yes , I would agree with that . I did a bit of research yesterday and also came to the conclusion that 3 wheel morgan's could well be the "animal" we are looking for.
