I have just read about someone having there car parts galvanized. STOP and check with anyone who knows about galvanizing before you do. Paint will not take to unless it is specially treated first. There is a solution you can apply prior to painting. Also talk to any welder who knows his stuff and I think you will find the metal is difficult to weld
afterwards. THINK SERIOUSLY FIRST. Mike.

Great advice. My tourer was restored by a scottish fishing magnate who had all his boats' deck equipment galvanized and threw the Minor into the galvanizing bath along with them. Now the paint is peeling off the bonnet and front wings badly. But there is no rust anywhere!
