I have a copy of this book which I collected from Louis Connolly . He gave me a copy of the original photograph which he has said the VMR can reproduce in its journal. The registration is I believe GU 252 but I am going to get a friend to enhance it to check the registration. I also think that the date of 1937 is incorrect because by that time he had four children. The car may have been part of the deal for producing the MG catalogue in 1929.

Ian, I will be sending you the copy photo in due course.

Oops, I meant Simon, not Chris!

GU numbers commenced March 1929.

I thought the Morris script was supposed to be in line with the lamps, also wasn't this a feature of 1928 and 1929 cars only? I made one for DF from copper to avoid the "what a lovely Austin 7" comments that I got, presumably this was William Morris's problem too!

DF's lamps are black all over, and the driving mirror is black with a chrome rim this on a October 1929 car.

I cuold do with door pockets, DF is without them, so few places to put things without - how do you mange!

Cheers
Jeremy

Jeremy,

I think you will find that DF's lamps are correct in black...I have seen some jazzed up with chrome but I believe all the swb ohc cars left Cowley with all black side and headlamps. The mirrors may have had a bright rim, not sure. The mirror arm on DF is correct for a Minor but when I had her, the Lucas mirror head came from a 1929 Cowley, so a bit larger (and better!) than the standard Minor one. Upgrading or what !!

Paul.
