Important change to the weekend. Both the Friday and Sunday runs will now be starting at Ye Olde Hobnails, Little Washbourne (OS150/991322), and NOT the Royal Oak.

The Royal Oak were not prepared to open for us because of our small (!) numbers.

However, the Hobnails were more than happy to welcome us, AND they can provide everything from teas, coffees to bacon butties to full English breakfasts!

Right now we have 29 entries for Friday and a fantastic 72 for Sunday.

Also, our evenings gatherings on Friday and Sunday will also take place at the Hobnails. There's no need to book for breakfast, but we recommend you book for dinner on Friday and/or Sunday evenings by calling Jack or Millie on 01242/621259.

All the Final Instructions for the weekend can now be found at http://www.vintageminor.co.uk/Final Instructions.html

Flying to London tomorrow - most stuff is done now, but I have a list of last minute items to sort next week.

We have a fantastic entry and entries are still flowing in - three just this morning so far.

The Pre-War Prescott weekend commences a week today with our Friday Tour. Actually the weekend starts on Thursday evening, as anyone arriving on Thursday is warmly invited to the Shutters in Gotherington in the evening.

Jayne and I arrived in England last Friday and have been busy finalizing plans. Entries have continued to arrive and have all been ticketed so far. If you have not received your tickets yet (unless you entered very recently), but have not received your tickets yet, please let me know immediately.

If you have not entered but would like to do so, there’s plenty of time left to get you sorted. Tickets for last minute entries will be enveloped and positioned with the gate marshals for collection on the day, or can be collected at the Shutters on Thursday night or the Hobnails on Friday night.

If for any reason you cannot pre-enter, then you are very welcome to simply turn up on Saturday and pay at the gate. I will have a FEW spare climb tickets, but all pre-booked entries receive a guaranteed free climb and Programme.

Numbers right now:

29 cars on Friday, 35 people for the Morgan tour, 42 cream teas at Beckford Silk Mill
198 cars at Prescott (plus a lot of interesting spectators’ cars), 372 climbs, 27 M.G.’s entered in the MG100 Display and Cavalcade
73 cars on Sunday – 24 on the Nav Rally and 49 on the Scenic Tour, and 123 cream teas at Stanway House

Important things to know at this stage:

Both the Friday and Sunday tours start from Ye Olde Hobnails, Little Washbourne – between 8 and 9. Full breakfasts available. Evenings will be at the Shutters Thursday night, the Hobnails Friday and Sunday nights and the Gardeners Arms, Alderton on Saturday night. If you would like to dine in the evening at the Hobnails, call Jack or Millie on 01242/621259 to make a table booking. No need to book for the Shutters or the Gardeners.

If you are on either the Friday or Sunday Tours, and cannot make the start, I can e-mail you the corresponding Scenic Tour Handbook in advance and you can join the route at your convenience.

All those entered in the MG100 Display and Cavalcade will be e-mailed separately with instructions over the next few days.

All those who have generously volunteered to marshal will be e-mailed separately over the next few days.

All those camping will need to pitch camp along the stone track at the lane edge of the Orchard (i.e. between the Bugatti Trust and the farm) to avoid getting mixed up with the Peugeot Club who have Prescott on Sunday and who will be camping further up the Orchard, starting Saturday night.

Anyone climbing the hill – both drivers and passengers - will need to obtain a (free) RS Clubman licence from https://apply-rsclubman.motorsportuk.org/landing and then pre-register with the BOC at https://forms.gle/5hsY3ZBAyavcwrwG6.

The Saturday lunchtime charity auction. Please bring any unwanted but quality automobilia or other items to the VMR marquee in the morning. We already have some super items donated including a cottage weekend for two in the North Yorkshire dales (https://www.northviewcottages.co.uk/the-duck-s-nest), generously donated by Paul and Alison Maddox and the Tiger Moth flight donated once again by Chris Thompson of Finest Hour Experiences (https://www.finesthourexperiences.co.uk/)

The Spitfire and Hurricane are scheduled to arrive at 14-25 hrs. The hill will close for a shot while for their display.

Those entering the Navigation Rally on Sunday will need OS map 150 – any edition.

If you have not yet ordered a farm shop picnic for Sunday, but would like to do so, get in touch immediately. There is also a café and coffee shop at Coughton Court, so nobody will have to miss out!

If you have any questions whatsoever regarding the weekend, simply reply to this e-mail. The more we can sort out before the weekend, the smoother things will run.

Jayne and I will be heading over from our Ludlow cottage on Thursday and we will be staying in Bredons Norton. We will be at all four evening pub meets - probably with our blue Minor fabric saloon.

See you soon!

Ian,

Another enjoyable PWP, thank you for all the hard work you put in making this happen. The nav rally was fun as always. Looking forward to Pre-War Bicester next year.
