We have set the date with Joe Reed, the landlord as Sunday 23rd October - just before the clocks go back, so you have an extra hour of daylight to wend your way home. Let's try for a really good turnout.

Just a reminder to make your plans to visit if you are within striking distance.

Great news from our very good friend Roly Alcock today:

"Hi Ian

I gather our Hereford A7 Club are now planning on having our Autumn run finish up at the Bull to meet the VMR gathering.

Looking forward to this.

Roly"

Should be super gathering.

Weather forecast sadly suggests this is going to be a thundery washout, so I'll be keeping the Morris in the garage if it is.

That's not good news, but on the good news front, we're also expecting at least five Hornets as well as the Hereford Sevens.

Ignore my note in my e-mail about booking tables. it will be a BBQ, so no need to call for a table.

Saturday is looking much better than Sunday, weather wise. Dry and sunny.

I'll be taking the Minor out for its first proper run since it had a thorough check over and service. Brakes are now better than they've ever been as we've discovered there's additional adjustment in the cables which hadn't previously been noticed. I've also had the sump off for the first time and replaced the very leaky gasket that was the cause of much oil loss. Been delaying it through fear of causing an issue that would put the car off the road for a prolonged period. Also discovered the bolts holding the front axle to the springs had come loose  All 8 had to be replaced. Checking the tightness of every nut and bolt is now on the oil change service schedule. These vintage motorcars seem to enjoy shaking themselves to pieces!!

Good work! The original front spring to axle bolts each had two nuts, so a nut and a locking nut.

I am hoping to join you all, but sadly it will be in the Modern, as TP is still being a diva!
Look forward to meeting more of you, and hopefully picking some brains.

Oh, and did someone say "Hornet"?! 8)

The pub opens at 11-30, so any time from then would be good!

So there was torrential rain in the morning, but the sun came out for the lunch meet. There was an excellent turnout, despite the forecast, with lots of Austin 7's and Hornets. Only two Minors unfortunately - Chive Hamilton Gould arrived in his 193o tourer which mad a good comparison with the landlord's 1933 tourer - both in the same dark blue.

I have received photos from Mike Tebbett and Clive - any more out there?

Roll on the spring meet! Date TBA.

More info and pics coming in. Looks like a creditable 16 pre-war cars plus a good many moderns. Congrats to all for another great turnout.
