Driver's door lock fell apart last weekend while on the way home from spectating at the VSCC Welsh Trial. I was thankfully able to continue the journey home as the door wasn't interested in swinging open, even on the bends I'm hopeful I'll be able to secure a replacement lock this week so should still be there on Sunday. Ian, can you remind me what time the meeting starts? I have it down as 11am.

Thanks Ian. The conditions were far too dry they were even spoilt by the appearance of the big round yellow thing in the sky on Sunday!!!

Yes, not a bad combination When cold the oil pressure is up around 80-90psi and gradually drops over a 5-10 mile journey to around 60psi and stays there for the duration. At tickover it sits around 60-70psi cold and drops to as low as 20psi once properly hot, in line with the drop from 80+psi to 60psi at speed. I need to replace the incorrect ammeter (it's a 30-0-30) with a correct 20-0-20 ammeter, especially given that it's a faulty unit. I borrowed a 20A ammeter and it showed that the current generated is stable. The one that is fitted tends to bounce all over the place. I have a replacement door lock on its way to me. It will hopefully arrive tomorrow and I can fit it and get back out on the Queen's Highway in time for the weekend.

Took a bit more effort than I was expecting, but I can now say the replacement driver's door lock is fitted and working. I thought it would be a 5-10 minute job, but it ended up taking more hours than I care to think about. The issue was one that wasn't immediately obvious. With the new lock fitted the door just would not shut. It took me ages to figure out what was causing the problem. It turned out to be the pin on the new lock being slightly fatter than on the original item. The locating hole on the striker plate fitted to the B-post was too small so the pin just wouldn't fit. I ended up reducing the thickness of the pin and enlarging the hole in the striker plate. The door appears to be shutting better than ever.
