Looks like a ridiculously low estimate at GBP 4-6k, and such a pity the auction house is touting the transferability of the registration number.

As someone has mentioned to me, an equivalent Austins 7 would attract twice as much. Let's see what the bidding gets to next week.

Bidding has ended and the highest bid was GBP 4,000, the bottom end of the estimate.

Someone either got a bargain of a number plate dealer is pleased with his purchase. Let's hope the former.

Here it is being dumped after the number plate has been removed - see the plates over the number plates. And look at the mark-up.

I reckon it's worth this price (check out 1932 Austin 7 prices), though, but sad that the number has gone forever.

On further research, this is actually a 1931 OHC Minor, chassis M29570. Some time prior to 1988 it was fitted with a SV Minor engine, 1932 season radiator and Magna wheels, telescopic shock absorbers etc. It was advertised in the VMR Magazine (M 120) in 2005 for £3,995 - a five under what it sold for with Brightwells this year!
