AA badge - member's identity?

Does anyone know if it is possible to cross reference the serial number on an AA badge to the corresponding member's name? (I believe that the number is not a membership number but a serial number - which is different.)
I ask because I have an AA badge that was given to me by the owner of my Semi-sports in the fifties, and he told me that it had belonged to his uncle when he owned the car after the War. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
