What is the best thing to use on my fabric folding roof on my 1931 coach built saloon to preserve it and waterproof it ?

That's a good question, Andy. I presume the same would be used for tourer hoods. The original material was double duck which is waterproof, but if the material is old and becoming porous, then I think I'd start by contacting the camping and tent suppliers and I believe there is an aerosol that can be used to waterproof tents which would presumably be suitable.

Unless anyone here has any more specialist knowledge?

That would probably work. But it looks like previously it has been painted with something, and has lost its colour in places. Would something like rubberised paint do 🤔

It might be best to give one of the vintage car upholstery suppliers a quick call - like Paul Beck? Or a local upholsterer?
