Hi Ian,
What do you make of this Morris guarantee? It looks like 1930 Minor chassis number but the sold date is 1932.
Surely it wouldn't have taken 2 years to sell? Your thoughts?

Re: morris guarantee
Hi Ewan,
Actually, MML8 tells me that this is SV LWB chassis 34/ML/26060. This chassis was laid down in December 1932, so all's well.
Interestingly, this chassis left the Cowley works as a bare driving chassis, headed for a local coachbuilder. Do you have any more information about this car?
Cheers,
Ian

Re: Morris guarantee
This row of once prestigious properties overlooking the sea is South Cliff, Roker Terrace, Sunderland. Sadly none of the numbered houses would appear to carry the name 'Andover' as some are now in commercial / multi-occupancy use and two properties at the southern end are post war infill possibly due to bomb damage during the war. No doubt the Minor would have been garaged at the rear of the property.
Perhaps H. Dorkin Esq. may have had some connection to Charles W Dorkin & Co. Ship Breakers of North Dock, Sunderland at that time - the North Dock being just beyond the southern end of South Cliff, Roker Terrace. It's likely the Morris would have been supplied by Turvey & Co. Ltd of Holmeside Garage - the main Morris dealers in the town.

Old OS map showing the location of the house, which I have circled.
This should be the house.....https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@54.92264 ... 384!8i8192
