3 Minors attended the all British day at Parramatta Sydney last weekend, a 34 Holden bodied tourer barn find , an early 2 seater chassis MM414 and my tourer Y516.

Hi Ewan,

Thanks for posting these - I resized them for you.

Nice to see this car out in the sunshine. It belongs to VMR member Paul Kinder, member no. 499. Chassis number is 38172. Chassis 38171 has also survived and is also Holden-bodied, in the hands of Paul Barbara. Also LWB, but a fixed head coupe.

Hi again Ewan,

You mention chassis MM414 being at the gathering. If this chassis number is correct, it will be the earliest known surviving Minor. That accolade is currently held by MM463 which is a fabric saloon in England. MM414 was also a fabric saloon and was laid down on 25th October 1928 (MM463 was laid down on the 30th). Interesting, as most of the early chassis that went to Australia were in bare chassis form.

Is it possible to trace the current owner, and did you manage to take any photos of the chassis?

Ian
