Sealed wheel bearings

Hi everyone,
What do you think of using sealed bearings in the wheel hub? If that will work (and I can´t see why not) you don´t need other kinds of seals. And you can skip the grease...

Absolutely. And it prevents grease from getting on to the brake shoes, and since Minor brakes are not thd best, then this is a good way up go.

Tell me more. I've just had delivered a pair of nylatron axle bushes from Mike Dowley at Sports and Vintage and tonight have been trawling his catalogue for a replacement for the pair of felt washers behind the hub. I'm trying to be pure about this but can you let me have some more information about the sealed bearing solution?

Well, I used a standard bearing (of the same type - deep groove ball bearings) from SKF, permanent lubricated and sealed at both sides. If you like I can provide SKF number.

Inner bearing front hub 25x52x15 mm has number SKF 6205-2RS. You can surely find a dealer via Google. Just type SKF 6205
