Felt seals on front stub axles.

Post by garagiste »

How many felt seals should there be on the front sub axles.

The inboard ones fine, but should there be outer ones?

Some diagrams show them others not.

There's one behind the bearing, and on the later SV cars with Magna wheels, there was a small one inset into a brass cap under the stub axle nut that covered the bearing, and this brass cap had =an integral greaser. On the earlier cars, there was a steel disk with holes in it under the stub axle nut and no felt washer, so grease could escape into the small-centre wheel.
