No, it is not a piece of modern art or an alien ship from Star Trek. The only clue I can give you is that it is intended for a Morris Minor. You may have a guess, but I can only e-mail you the answer. :o

without a scale to work to it looks like one end is a gearbox bell housing...
PS a spy tells me of someone who casts new minor blocks in NZ-unconfirmed... :shock:

Spot on. And you know the car it is destined for. A well-known Minor special of the thirties. We will have it at Pre-War Prescott once completed.
