Odds and ends spare

Post by Ian Grace »

Having sorted out the container contents, I have a few spare items to offer:

Recovered/restored Minor steering wheel
Two D41 distributors
One DS4 distributor
Several new DS4/D41 distributor caps
Pair of triangular scuttle supports
Driver's side floorboard iron
1933 SV Minor instrument panel - bare
M Type inlet/exhaust manifold. It has a 2" hole near the back, but should be repairable
1934 chassis plate

There may be more as I get to the bottom of the boxes!

To add to the list:

1929 small dynamo, including drive gear and top fork, missing cover band.
Nickel plated 1929 driver's door lock and cover - excellent original condition.
1929 16-0-16V ammeter in excellent original condition.
Pair of 502M Hartfords. 12/12?

The Rotax panel is sold, but Garry Waiting has more. Contact him at gmwaiting@hotmail.co.uk.

Hello Ian,
I might be interested in your Hartfords but I have a few questions:
1.Are they still available?
2.I know the 502M is designed for heavier cars than the Minor, but would they fit on the Minor chassis?
3.Do you include the mounting bolts?
4.Can you say something about their condition?
5.What is your price?
Looking forward to your reply,

Please let me know what you would like for the items.

Ps: the needles arrived safely last week

Hi Halbe,

I'll fish them out tonight and let you know.

Incidentally, my 1929 block didn't turn up in the container - only a small piece that had broken off it - which I now have! I'll try to find out where the block went - it may possibly still be lurking under Toby Sears' bench! Are you still in need?

block sold for tenner last Beaulieu after being on the stall for 6 jumbles being reduced from £50 downwards and at £20 for last 3 jumbles, lots of interest till people saw the damage/big hole and refused to even make an offer, especially without any of the missing bits, followed your advice that I should get anything i could for it and that there was no lower limit on price. Will send tenner up to prescott with trophy.....
Chassis plate arrived, ta :D
if it's got wheels or chips - it'll cost you dear

Halbe,

That would be a life-saver for you if Tony's block is OK.

I haven't had much time to work on the fabric saloon so far, and probably won't until the end of July. We have our son's Wedding in our garden 9th July and the Summer Rally is the following weekend at Prescott, so with M 138 to get out as well, I have nil spare time for much else right now. The first task will be to replace the inner tubes and get it rolling, so I can push it outsiode to work on it. Then the tasks will be split between very careful cleaning/detailing and preparing it to run - battery, fuel, electrics, etc. I can't wait to fire it up - for the first time on at least 37 years.

In the meantime, if there are any photos, patterns, etc. that would be of use, just let me know.
