Hmm. I'd try to find the correct SU. I'll have a rummage in my bits when the container finally turns up. In the meantime, can anyone else help Kartik with a suitable unit? And I'll also add this to your Wanted ad on the website.

No ... and no!

The Minor carb. attachment flange to the manifold is horizontal.

Below is what you are looking for - this is actually a SV Minor carb. You could fit this or look for the rarer OHC carb. which is near identical except that it has a bottom-feed float chamber. The SV float chamber has the advantage that the top swivels, so you can position the fuel inlet pipe away from the hot manifold - important with modern volatile fuels which tend to vapour-lock very easily. The disadvantage is that there is less of a gravity drop from the scuttle tank of the OHC car to the higher float bowl inlet and if your tank is near empty and you are climbing a hill, the carb. can become starved of fuel.

Kartik, if you go to the Members' Area and scroll down to the very bottom, you'll see the Strickland Archive of SV MInor documents and information. Click on the 1933 Operation Manual then look for The Carburetter - fifth chapter down. It will tell you all you need to know about the SU carb.
