Maybe Morris

Post by Ian Grace »

I received this charming period photograph from the vintage car department of the Gernam auto club ADAC this morning. One of their members had asked if this was maybe a Morris Minor.

Unfortunately not of course - it is a Triumph Super Seven, but I have asked the club if they have any photos of Minors in Germany or on the Continent.

Here's another mystery that could be a morris 'maybe'. The chassis which is clearer on the original photo is definitely of Morris Minor or Wolseley Hornet origin. The wheelbase means it would have to be a lwb minor. The fact that the step in the chassis side member is so far back suggests it is Wolseley Hornet. The knock on wheels suggest Hornet Special but the small brakes suggest 1930/31 Hornet??? I have never seen a photo of the Skinner special in early Hudson engined form when it still had its minor chassis. I half wondered if it could be that???
