Less than a month after Christchurch, Japan is hit. I have e-mailed our members in Japan to ckeck they are safe. I'll report news here. Kenji lives only about 15 miles from Kobe, which was devastated in 1995.
Here in Seattle, we were brushed by the tsunami at about 8 a.m this morning and there was some damage down the coast in California - but nothing on the scale of the devastation in Japan. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those suffering.

Re: Japanese quake
This just in from Kenji:
"Ian,
Thank you for your e-mail.
We are also very much surprised.
We experienced big earthquake 16 years ago in Kobe, but this earthquake is much more miserable.
In Kobe area, the quake was not so strong and we did not have any tsunami. So, all of our member survive.
But there are also MG Club in north east area of Japan.
We extremely worry about their situation.
I will send you a report soon.
Kenji"
I have sent very best wishes from al at the VMR to Kenji, his family and friends. I'll report more as I get it.
