Cast welding/brazing

Post by mowersman »

A bit of big ask, sorry.
I was wondering if there was anyone locally (suffolk/essex/norfolk) with facilities to weld or braze cast iron. we are of course, more than happy to pay for time/materials.
Our manifold is in a pretty sorry state as the exhaust flange has been broken off and been very poorly brazed back on, but the braze is cracking and it is going to disintegrate soon. I have been looking for a replacement manifold but so far no joy. I would like to get it done soon, as it is one of the few things stopping us from getting an MOT.
Thanks
Andrew

Andrew,

I'll post a Wanted ad for you because replacement has to be your best bet - these manifolds are not that rare.

I had my Semi-sports block repaired by a cast iron genius by the name of Neil at Onsite Welding 07973/743601 – highly recommended.

I'll post some photos tomorrow (well... ) I think I may have found someone on a forum relating to my other hobby that can TIG braze it for the time being until another turns up. There is a post in the wanted section.
Thanks
Andrew
